About Rhoads & O'HaraIn October, 2006, Lance Rhoads and Bob O'Hara partnered to form
Rhoads & O'Hara Architectural Products, LLC. Lance, a 1985 graduate of
Virginia Tech and Bob, a 1988 graduate of the University of
Massachusetts, bring to Rhoads & O'Hara a combined 45 years of
experience in the forest products industry. Lance and Bob's paths have
paralleled since college. Upon graduation, both with degrees in Wood
Science and Technologies, they found employment in the distribution of
hardwood lumber - Lance with Mann & Parker Lumber Company and Bob with
Rex Lumber Company. Ironically, they were competitors throughout most of
the 1990's, until 1997, when Lance moved to plywood distribution with
the Bay Ridge Companies. It was only a short time later when Bob also
joined Bay Ridge. In the summer of 2006, Bay Ridge went out of business
and Lance and Bob, with the support and encouragement of many long-time
customers and friends, decided to open Rhoads & O'Hara.
